Bait
How Bait Works
Bait does not increase the chance of catching those fish, but rather unlocks the ability to even catch the fish that require bait. For example, if you were to fish in Mayan without bait, you will only even fish up Bronze fish UNTIL you apply bait to your rod. Then all tiers of fish will be unlocked as able to be fished up, however this does not buff the likelihood of fishing up the higher tiers of fish that were unlocked.
Anytime bait is applied to your rod, as you pull in custom fish, uses of the bait will be used EVEN if you are not fishing in an area that would benefit from the bait (e.g. you apply Pirate Chum but fish in the Overworld, it will consume uses of the bait even though you could never catch Mayan fish in the Overworld). If for some reason, you need to quickly change baits, you can remove any applied bait but will loose any remaining uses of it.
- /fish removebait - removes all charges of bait from the currently equipped fishing rod
